Cantina Monticiana is a wine and olive oil producer.
We are located in Lazio, south of Rome, in the province of Frosinone, Ciociaria, in the town of Monte San Giovanni Campano, recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The town is also known for the quality of its olive oil, so much so that it has been awarded the title of olive-growing town “Oil City.”
700 native olive trees and 2,500 vines allow us to cultivate low intensity and therefore high quality. Our olive oil is made exclusively from 100% Italian olives produced by the biodynamic farming method. Wine and olive oil are therefore produced with respect for the environment and the land.
Inspired by nature
The olive oil and wine we produce are grown according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture, in a natural and healthy balance between heaven and earth.
With the biodynamic method, agriculture is in harmony with nature, the earth and man.
Fertilization, cultivation and animal husbandry adopt techniques that respect and promote the fertility and vitality of the soil and, at the same time, the specific qualities of plant and animal species. The whole process, in the fields, scrupulously follows a process of moon phases.
No chemical fertilizers or pesticides are used. The only products used are biodynamic preparations: horn manure, silica, green manure seeds and compost used to fertilize the soil.
Ecology, ethics, sustainability
Ecology, ethics, social and economic sustainability combine to form biodynamic thinking. Cantina Monticiana is a biodynamic winery that relies only on the resources offered by its land.
Each biodynamic product is closely connected with its environment, in tune with nature and the value of time.
Attention to diversity. The number of species in grapes and olive trees is an asset to be preserved and prioritized.
Respect for natural rhythms. We organize our work with the phases of the moon with flowering times, following the calendar that Nature offers from time to time.
Quality. Each of our products must be rich in flavor, possess nutrients, and contain a high ethical value and connection to our land.
Zero chemistry. Only natural substances and no synthetic chemicals.
